About FAWE
FAWE is a pan-African non-governmental organization founded in 1992 by five women ministers of education to promote girls’ and women’s education in sub-Saharan Africa. Operating through 34 National Chapters across sub-Saharan Africa, FAWE promotes gender equity and equality in education by fostering positive policies and attitudes towards girls’ education. FAWE’s mission is to facilitate access to quality education and training opportunities for girls and women, enabling them to develop relevant skills and achieve their full potential in all realms of life.

Key Responsibilities
Resource Mobilization and Fundraising
- Develop and implement a comprehensive resource mobilization strategy to secure funding from diverse sources, including institutional donors, corporate partners, and international agencies.
- Identify and pursue new funding opportunities aligned with FAWE’s mission and strategic objectives.
- Prepare high-quality proposals, concept notes, and funding applications in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Manage donor relationships, ensuring timely reporting and compliance with funding agreements.
Partnership Development
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including governments, NGOs, academic institutions, and the private sector.
- Represent FAWE at regional and international forums, conferences, and meetings to raise awareness of its work and advocate for girls’ education.
- Collaborate with FAWE’s National Chapters to strengthen their capacity in resource mobilization and partnership building.
Brand Promotion and Advocacy
- Develop and implement strategies to promote FAWE’s brand and visibility regionally and internationally.
- Lead advocacy efforts to influence education policies and practices that impact girls and women.
- Coordinate the production of communication materials, including reports, newsletters, and social media content, to disseminate FAWE’s achievements and impact.
Strategic Planning and Reporting
- Contribute to the development and review of FAWE’s strategic plans and ensure alignment with resource mobilization efforts.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of resource mobilization strategies and partnerships.
- Prepare regular reports on resource mobilization activities and outcomes for the Executive Director and Board.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Communication, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience in developing fundraising strategies, institutional resource mobilization, and building business portfolios within the NGO sector.
- Proven understanding of the development sector, donor relations, and grants management.
- Fluency in English; working knowledge of French is essential.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and writing skills.
- Strong management and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in computer applications and Office 365.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural team environment and manage complexities.
Desirable
- Experience in developing resource mobilization strategies for pan-African organizations.
- Knowledge of FAWE’s programs and approaches, including gender-responsive education and advocacy.
- Familiarity with regional and international education policies and frameworks.
