Utande, a leading provider in the telecommunications and ICT sector, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Account Manager to join its Bulawayo team. This position plays a key role in maintaining strong client relationships, driving revenue growth, and supporting the business’s strategic objectives through effective sales and account management.

Key Responsibilities
As the Account Manager, you will be responsible for a range of duties centered around sales, client relationship management, and business development. Your primary goal will be to promote and sell Utande’s products and services, while ensuring excellent service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities include:
- Sales and Client Engagement:
- Actively present and sell company products and services to new and existing customers.
- Identify and assess client-specific needs, proposing tailored solutions and value-based offerings.
- Attend to walk-in clients and respond to leads generated through the company’s ticketing and customer service system.
- Product Knowledge and Sales Execution:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all products, pricing, and packages in order to confidently close sales.
- Assist clients with queries, clarifying product specifications, and recommending appropriate solutions.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Build and sustain long-term relationships with key clients.
- Communicate regularly with clients to ensure satisfaction and address any service-related concerns.
- Escalate unresolved issues promptly to management to avoid service disruptions.
- Collaboration and Strategy:
- Work closely with the technical team and fellow sales staff to track client performance, review sales strategies, and ensure service efficiency.
- Participate in internal planning sessions to align on sales targets and strategy execution.
- Reporting and Administration:
- Prepare and present weekly and monthly sales reports, providing updates on pipeline progress, closed deals, and market feedback.
- Generate quotations, proforma invoices, and manage documentation associated with client transactions.
- Attend internal sales meetings to report on targets and progress.
- Market Intelligence and Feedback:
- Gather and report on market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights.
- Use market feedback to inform product positioning, pricing adjustments, and sales approaches.
- Contract Negotiation and Debt Recovery:
- Negotiate terms including pricing, delivery schedules, and service specifications with clients and managers.
- Assist in following up on outstanding payments and contribute to effective debt collection efforts.
Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Management, or any Commercial discipline. A qualification in Telecommunications or Information Technology is an added advantage.
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a sales or client-facing role, preferably in a telecoms or ICT environment.
- Proven ability to meet sales targets and manage client accounts.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to evaluate performance and market trends.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Good organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM platforms is desirable.
