Nivishe is growing, and we’re looking for a passionate, strategic, and results-oriented individual to lead our programmatic vision, strengthen our monitoring and evaluation frameworks, and ensure our work creates meaningful, measurable impact.
Position Overview: Programs, Monitoring & Evaluation Lead
As the Programs, Monitoring & Evaluation Lead, you will be responsible for the design, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of all programmatic activities. This is a senior leadership position, reporting directly to the Executive Director, and playing a critical role in shaping the future of our programs.
You will lead a team of program officers and M&E staff, manage partnerships with donors and stakeholders, and ensure that our activities are implemented efficiently, meet high standards, and are backed by data and evidence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Program Leadership and Strategy
- Oversee the planning, design, and execution of all Nivishe’s programs.
- Align programs with the organization’s strategic goals and mission.
- Provide leadership in program conceptualization, development, budgeting, and implementation.
- Support the integration of trauma-informed and community-led approaches across all program areas.
2. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEAL)
- Lead the development and implementation of a robust M&E system to track program effectiveness and impact.
- Design appropriate frameworks, indicators, and tools for data collection and analysis.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to internal leadership and external donors.
- Foster a learning culture through ongoing evaluation, reflection, and program adaptation based on evidence.
3. Team Management and Capacity Building
- Supervise program and M&E staff, ensuring alignment of team goals and professional development.
- Lead regular team meetings, field visits, and performance reviews.
- Facilitate internal training sessions to build M&E and programmatic capacity across teams.
4. Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting
- Serve as the primary liaison for donor programmatic and reporting requirements.
- Prepare high-quality reports, proposals, and presentations for donors, partners, and the board.
- Represent Nivishe in relevant forums, networks, and collaborative platforms.
- Support new funding proposals and ensure programmatic alignment with funding priorities.
5. Data and Impact Communication
- Translate M&E data into compelling impact stories for reports, social media, and advocacy.
- Develop dashboards or summary tools for internal decision-making and external communication.
- Ensure ethical data collection practices and informed consent, especially in sensitive or trauma-related contexts.
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for a confident leader who is both strategic and hands-on, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and passionate about community development and mental health.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Health, Monitoring & Evaluation, or related field (Master’s degree is a strong asset).
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in program management and/or M&E in a nonprofit or NGO setting.
- Proven success in designing and implementing M&E frameworks and using data to drive decision-making.
- Experience managing teams and coordinating across departments or partner organizations.
- Strong understanding of gender equity, trauma-informed programming, and peacebuilding frameworks.

- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Proficiency in data collection tools (e.g., KoboToolbox, ODK), analysis software (Excel, SPSS, Power BI), and reporting formats.

- Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with marginalized communities.
