Researcher Opportunity: Strengthening Local Government and Community Preparedness for the Reintegration of Child Deportees and Returnees

Position Overview
The Habibie Center is seeking a dedicated researcher to contribute to its project on “Strengthening Local Government and Community Preparedness for the Reintegration of Child Deportees and Returnees.” This initiative aims to enhance the capacity of local governments and communities in Central Java, Indonesia to effectively support the reintegration of child returnees.
Key Responsibilities
- Research Design and Planning: Collaborate with the project team to design and plan research methodologies tailored to the context of child returnees in Central Java.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Conduct fieldwork, including interviews, surveys, and focus group discussions, to gather data on the challenges and opportunities related to reintegration.
- Report Writing and Documentation: Prepare comprehensive reports documenting research findings, analyses, and recommendations for stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with local government officials, community leaders, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the research is grounded in local realities and needs.
- Dissemination of Findings: Contribute to the dissemination of research findings through workshops, policy briefs, and other platforms to inform policy and practice.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Law, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in research, particularly in areas related to child protection, migration, or community development.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills, proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methods, excellent writing abilities, and effective communication skills.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and proficiency in English.
