Thematic Challenge Areas

Selected startups must address one or more of the following focus areas:

1. Health Technology – Equitable Access for All

Underserved communities in Zambia often lack access to quality healthcare. While innovations like telemedicine and AI-powered diagnostics are emerging, these technologies are not yet widespread. This challenge seeks scalable HealthTech solutions that promote equitable, inclusive healthcare across Zambia.

2. Education Technology – Bridging the Digital Divide

Rural areas, especially for girls and women, face barriers in accessing quality education and digital skills. There’s a need for inclusive EdTech tools that close learning gaps and boost digital literacy. We’re looking for solutions that empower future generations through accessible, scalable education technology.

3. Financial Technology – Empowering Entrepreneurs

Many entrepreneurs, particularly women in underserved communities, lack access to credit, investment tools, and financial literacy resources. This challenge invites FinTech innovations that enhance financial inclusion, literacy, and business growth through accessible tools and platforms.

4. AI & Emerging Technologies – Breaking Barriers

Women entrepreneurs face challenges such as funding gaps, market barriers, and gender bias. We are looking for AI and emerging tech solutions that tackle these barriers, improve efficiency, and create inclusive opportunities for women-led startups in Zambia’s digital economy.

5. Access Technology – Innovations for Persons with Disabilities

People with disabilities often experience difficulties in mobility, communication, and accessing information. This challenge calls for accessible tech solutions—powered by AI or assistive tech—that enhance inclusivity and ensure everyone can participate in the digital age.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, your startup must meet the following:

  • Be a legally registered for-profit business with fewer than 10 employees.
