About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Business and Commercial Banking division as a Manager: Credit Evaluation. This is a strategic role aimed at safeguarding the bank’s asset portfolio by effectively assessing lending applications, identifying credit risks, and implementing sound financial principles aligned with internal credit policies.
In this position, you will be responsible for conducting robust credit risk and affordability assessments across a range of secured and unsecured lending products. You will also play a key role in supporting business partners by interpreting client lending needs, recommending suitable financial solutions, and helping structure facilities that are both compliant and commercially viable.
Key Responsibilities
Qualifications
- Educational Requirement: First Degree in Business Commerce, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Certifications (Optional but Preferred): Credit Risk Certification, CFA Level 1 or higher, or a postgraduate qualification in Financial Risk Management or Banking.
Experience
- Years of Experience: 5–7 years of professional experience within a credit risk or lending environment, preferably in commercial or business banking.
- Demonstrated expertise in intuitive and data-driven credit assessment and decision-making.
- Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, lending practices, credit policies, and loan structuring.
- Experience managing both secured and unsecured credit portfolios.
- Knowledge of collateral evaluation, repayment structuring, and recovery processes.
- Proven ability to operate in high-pressure environments requiring quick decision-making and strong judgment.
