Welcome to the Africa Youth Voices 4 Health Bootcamp—a dynamic, virtual training program designed to empower the next generation of health advocates across the African continent.
This high-impact initiative is aimed at young Africans aged 18 to 35 who are passionate about advancing health equity and improving health outcomes in their communities through digital advocacy, storytelling, and civic leadership. Over the course of several weeks, selected participants will engage in immersive learning experiences, gain essential digital skills, and connect with a continent-wide network of changemakers and experts.
About the Program
The Youth Voices 4 Health Bootcamp is a fully virtual training and mentorship program that equips youth with the knowledge, confidence, and tools needed to become influential health advocates. Participants will explore how to craft and share compelling narratives, mobilize communities through digital platforms, and influence health policies using evidence and data-driven strategies.
Whether you’re a student, early-career professional, community leader, or aspiring health advocate, this bootcamp offers the foundational training and collaborative support needed to elevate your impact in public health.
What You’ll Learn
Through interactive sessions, mentorship, and collaborative group work, participants will complete five core modules:
- Digital Health Advocacy Essentials
Understand the fundamentals of health advocacy in the digital age and how to use your voice to drive systemic change. - Social Media for Public Health Engagement
Learn how to use platforms like Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn to engage audiences, challenge misinformation, and mobilize communities for better health. - Digital Storytelling and Visual Advocacy
Master the art of creating compelling content—including videos, graphics, and blogs—that amplifies real-world health issues. - Advocacy, Campaigns, and Policy Influence
Explore the strategies behind successful health campaigns, policy advocacy, and how to structure sustainable grassroots movements. - Community Engagement and Program Sustainability
Gain insights on how to design and lead impactful programs with long-term community engagement and ownership.

- Platforms Used: Zoom, WhatsApp, Google Classroom, and self-paced tools
- Language of Instruction: English (French language support may be available depending on participant needs)
Eligibility Criteria
We’re looking for passionate young leaders who are committed to health and social justice. You are eligible if you:
- Are aged 18 to 35 years old
- Reside in or are a citizen of an African country
- Have a strong interest in health advocacy, digital storytelling, community service, or youth leadership
- Are able to commit to the full duration of the program (June to August)
- Are a student, recent graduate, or early-career professional in any field
We especially encourage applications from individuals who have a passion for equity, inclusion, and making a tangible difference in their communities through health-focused initiatives.
