Location: Irene, South Africa
Reports To: Managing Executive
Travel Requirement: Up to 30% International Travel
Salary: ~R1,400,000 plus benefits

Position Overview

The Regional Head of Finance will lead financial strategy and operations across PSI’s Southern Africa Strategic Business Unit (SBU), including South Africa, Kenya, Ethiopia, and Nigeria. This is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring financial governance, operational excellence, and strategic alignment with PSI’s global standards and regional priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Financial Leadership

  • Develop and execute the finance and operations strategy for the region, aligned with global policies, national regulations, and PSI SOPs.
  • Ensure adherence to financial governance and regulatory compliance through regular review and reporting mechanisms.
  • Oversee P&L management and ensure accurate financial forecasting, budgeting, and planning.
  • Provide financial insights to shape organizational strategy and manage risk exposure.
  • Ensure proper internal controls, cost management, and policy compliance across countries.

Financial Operations & Governance

  • Lead financial operations across SA, Kenya, Ethiopia, and Nigeria, ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting.
  • Serve as a thought partner to the leadership team, offering commercial and strategic financial guidance.
  • Lead internal and external audit processes and financial reviews.
  • Oversee the implementation of financial systems and support SAP ERP operations.
  • Continuously assess financial processes for operational efficiency and value optimization.

Stakeholder Engagement & Business Partnership

  • Develop strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, including global and local finance teams.
  • Provide financial consultation on business decisions and drive cross-functional initiatives.
  • Support local teams with financial training, capability building, and development programs.
  • Represent PSI in external engagements and regional/global finance initiatives.

Team and People Management

  • Lead and develop finance teams across the region, ensuring high performance and accountability.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, coaching sessions, and performance evaluations.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning, integrity, and technical excellence.

Process Improvement & Compliance

  • Ensure implementation of PSI’s global and local financial directives and procedures.
  • Partner with IT and operations teams to align technology with finance strategy.
  • Identify opportunities for operational enhancements and oversee change management.
  • Ensure proper processing of transactions, order fulfillment, and compliance with service level agreements.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Requirements

  • Honours Degree in Financial or Management Accounting (NQF Level 8)
  • Certified CA (SA) or CMA (SA) and completed SAICA articles
  • Minimum 10 years of finance and operations management experience, including 5+ years at a senior level
  • Strong SAP ERP experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Valid passport and driver’s license required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or MBA in a relevant field
  • 7+ years in a senior leadership role
  • Prior experience in the FMCG or healthcare industry
