About the Role

One Acre Fund is seeking a talented and experienced Communications Associate to support the organization’s executive communications. This position will play a vital role in managing the CEO’s communications, ensuring that the messaging aligns with the organization’s strategic goals, and helping drive initiatives that advance One Acre Fund’s mission. The Communications Associate will work directly with the CEO and collaborate with various teams to craft compelling narratives, manage communications, and ensure that messaging is consistent across different platforms.

The role is based in Kigali, Rwanda, but is open to global remote candidates. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager within the Office of the CEO, this position will be integral to shaping organizational communications, enhancing stakeholder engagement, and contributing to strategic initiatives that help One Acre Fund achieve its goals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Serve as the Voice of the CEO

The Communications Associate will develop and manage strategic communications that reflect the CEO’s voice across key platforms such as townhalls, email updates, in-person events, and other high-level communications. Consistency in tone, messaging, and alignment with One Acre Fund’s strategic objectives is essential to ensure that all communications from the CEO are clear and impactful. The Communications Associate will collaborate closely with the Global Communications team to refine messaging and keep it aligned with the organization’s evolving priorities. Feedback loops will be created to continuously adjust messaging based on organizational dynamics.

2. Conduct Strategic Research and Analysis

This role will require conducting in-depth research and synthesizing insights that support the CEO’s decision-making process. The Communications Associate will assist in developing reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership meetings. They will also support internal stakeholders, including the Global Communications and Business Development teams, by helping to craft communications from the CEO regarding strategic priorities and key organizational projects.

3. Drive Organization-Wide Initiatives

The Communications Associate will directly contribute to key change management initiatives that shape the future of One Acre Fund. By assisting in the implementation of major organizational strategies, the role will influence the direction and growth of the organization. The Communications Associate will help align communications to support these efforts, ensuring that organizational priorities are clearly communicated to internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Communications Associate role will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in corporate communications, consulting, or a similar strategic role.
  • Experience working in an executive office, whether in a corporate, government, or nonprofit setting.
  • Strong familiarity with stakeholder engagement and corporate governance best practices.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Eligibility

One Acre Fund can support work permits for this role. However, applicants from countries where the organization operates, or those with substantial professional experience in these regions, are preferred.
