Job Overview
Shanti Bhavan is seeking an Operations Manager (OM) to oversee the U.S. operations of the organization. This leadership role is key to maintaining and improving the efficiency, sustainability, and strategic growth of the organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the OM will manage core operational areas, including marketing, alumni relations, programming, fundraising, and partnerships.
The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day operations while driving initiatives that support long-term organizational goals. This individual will play a critical role in streamlining processes, enhancing communication, and leading a team dedicated to advancing Shanti Bhavan’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations: Ensure that all functions of the organization run smoothly, including marketing, alumni engagement, programming, fundraising efforts, and partnerships.
- Strategic Growth: Work closely with senior leadership to define and implement the strategic direction for U.S. operations.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor staff, providing guidance to ensure alignment with the organization’s goals.
- Operational Excellence: Identify areas for improvement in operational procedures and implement necessary changes to improve efficiency.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to align strategies and initiatives with the organization’s overall mission.
- Sustainability and Reporting: Help develop sustainable practices to ensure long-term success and oversee operational reporting to keep leadership informed about progress and challenges.
Qualifications and Skills
- 4-Year Degree required; a relevant field of study preferred.
- Managerial Experience: A proven track record of managing operations in a nonprofit or corporate environment, with an understanding of cross-functional operations.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong communication skills to engage stakeholders and coordinate activities across teams.
- Experience in fundraising, programming, and partnership management is highly desirable.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and results-driven, with the ability to work independently and in a remote team setting.
