About the Role:

ADD International is currently undergoing a transformation to support its new strategy and to evolve into a Participatory Grant Maker.

As part of this shift, there are exciting new opportunities and challenges emerging, including innovative HR initiatives such as a trial 4-day working week and the implementation of global HR standards. This transformation presents an opportunity for a new HR Coordinator to join the team and provide essential support.

In this role, you will work closely with the HR Manager to oversee and manage all generalist HR activities across ADD International. As the HR Manager takes on additional responsibilities related to other strategic projects, you will take the lead on day-to-day HR tasks and ensure smooth administration. This position offers the chance to take ownership of HR operations, contribute to new initiatives, and make valuable suggestions on how to improve and innovate HR practices within the organization.

This is an exciting time to be joining ADD, as we embark on the implementation of our new strategy. You will not only manage routine HR functions but will also have the opportunity to influence key areas such as employee wellbeing, training, and fostering an inclusive organizational culture during 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-Day HR Management: Oversee and manage general HR tasks, including HR administration, employee records, recruitment processes, and onboarding activities.
  • Support HR Projects: Lead on specific HR projects and initiatives, such as improving staff wellbeing, developing training programs, and implementing inclusive culture strategies.
  • Advisory Role: Provide HR advice and guidance to managers on a wide range of topics, including employee relations, performance management, and policy implementation.
  • Employment Law Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment laws in one or more of the countries where ADD operates, ensuring compliance with local regulations and best practices.
  • HR Trends and Best Practices: Stay informed about emerging trends in HR, including new practices in organizational culture, wellbeing, and HR technology, and suggest ways to incorporate these into ADD’s HR operations.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications and characteristics:

  • Experience: Significant experience managing generalist HR and administration, ideally within an NGO or charity environment.
  • HR Knowledge: Strong understanding of HR trends, emerging best practices, and a proactive approach to adopting new HR methods.
  • Passion for Wellbeing and Inclusion: A genuine passion for supporting staff wellbeing and creating inclusive work environments where all employees can perform at their best.
  • Advisory Expertise: Experience in providing HR advice and support to managers, helping them navigate complex employee relations and HR issues.
  • Employment Law: Strong knowledge of employment law in at least one of ADD’s operational countries (outside of the UK).
  • Organizational Skills: The ability to manage multiple HR priorities in a fast-paced environment, with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: The ability to work with a diverse, international team and understand the cultural contexts of the countries ADD operates in.

What We Offer:

  • The opportunity to contribute to innovative HR initiatives within a growing organization.
  • A dynamic, inclusive, and supportive work environment.
  • The chance to help shape a people-centered HR approach that will have a meaningful impact on the wellbeing and success of ADD’s staff.

How to Apply:

If you are passionate about HR and making a positive impact in a global organization, we would love to hear from you. To apply, please submit your application by 30 April 2025.
