Position: Programme Lead – Intergenerational Partnerships (IP)
Location: Remote (Preferred time zone with availability between 9:00 CET and 17:00 CET, with occasional evening meetings; availability and willingness to travel required)
Contract Type: Full-time, 1-year contract (renewable)
Remuneration: Negotiated salary depending on experience

Role Overview
The Programme Lead will manage the foundation’s Intergenerational Partnerships (IP) programme, a key area aimed at achieving our vision of a world where every child can fulfill their unique potential. This role is central to advancing our programme areas related to inner diversity, family relationships and communication, and intergenerational partnerships. The Programme Lead will report directly to the Head of Programmes and work collaboratively with other Programme Leads.
Key Responsibilities
Programme Area Development
- Develop & Refine IP Model: Continuously enhance the intergenerational partnership approach and programme model to ensure its uniqueness and impact. Adapt the model to various contexts, including humanitarian, fragile, and conflict settings.
- Annual Planning: Develop and execute annual plans for the IP programme area, ensuring alignment with the foundation’s strategic goals.
- Generate Programme Evidence: Collaborate with the Learning for Well-Being Institute to generate evidence that supports and strengthens the programme’s impact.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Stay Informed: Regularly update knowledge of the global and regional landscape around child rights, child participation, and child well-being.
- External Representation: Represent the Foundation at meetings, conferences, and gatherings to advocate for the IP programme and drive the Foundation’s agenda.
- Governing Bodies: Serve as a representative on steering committees and technical taskforces related to children’s rights and child participation, providing expert insight on IP topics.
Partnership Development
- Strategic Partnership Identification: Work closely with the Partnerships & Advocacy Team and Grants Manager to identify and cultivate strategic partnerships within the children’s rights and child participation sectors.
- Grant Applications: Lead or support the development of grant applications related to intergenerational partnerships, often as part of consortium efforts.
- Co-Creation with Partners: Collaborate with partners to co-create and implement initiatives that drive the IP programme’s impact.
Capacity Development and Technical Support
- Internal Capacity Building: Build the capacity of staff on the intergenerational partnership approach, child safeguarding, and working effectively with children/youth.
- Support Country Offices: Provide technical assistance to country offices, helping them develop, strengthen, and improve their IP-related programmes.
- Child Safeguarding: Serve as the Foundation’s child safeguarding focal point, ensuring adherence to best practices and policies.
- External Capacity Building: Lead or engage in external training on intergenerational partnerships, child safeguarding, and best practices in working with children/youth.
Qualifications
- Education: Minimum Master’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, or a related field (Advanced degree preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in children’s rights, child participation, or a related field, preferably within the education or non-profit sectors.
- Program Development: Proven track record in developing and/or implementing children’s rights and child participation programmes. Experience in managing medium to large-scale multi-stakeholder projects across diverse geographies, including both high-income and low- and middle-income countries.
- Strategic Partnership Experience: Strong experience in building and managing partnerships with diverse stakeholders, including governments, NGOs, and educational institutions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence a variety of stakeholders. Additional languages are an advantage.
- Cultural Competency: High level of cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively in cross-cultural settings.

- Expertise in Children’s Rights: Deep understanding of child rights, child participation, and child safeguarding.
- Strategic Thinking & Problem-Solving: Ability to think strategically and solve complex problems, driving innovative solutions for the programme.
- Project Management: Skilled in managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and objectives are met.
- Technical Support: Experience providing technical support to staff and country teams, and engaging with stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of programmes.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and respond effectively to new challenges.
- Passion for Well-Being: Strong commitment to holistic well-being and educational reform, with an interest in social transformation.
