Restless Development Uganda is excited to announce the launch of a new and impactful project titled “Promoting Youth Inclusion in Governance and Decision-making in Uganda”. As part of this initiative, we are looking for dynamic and passionate individuals to join our team and make a meaningful impact on youth participation in governance, accountability, and decision-making processes across Uganda.
This project aims to empower young people, enhance their engagement in governance, and ensure their voices are heard in shaping the country’s future. We are looking for bold, dedicated, and motivated individuals who are committed to promoting youth inclusion in leadership and decision-making.
Available Roles:
Restless Development Uganda is hiring for the following positions within this project:
- Programme Coordinator
- Programme Officer
- Driver
- Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Officer
- Finance Officer
Each role is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development of Uganda’s youth, enhance their participation in governance, and promote a more inclusive and accountable political system.
Role Overview:
1. Programme Coordinator
The Programme Coordinator will oversee the implementation of the “Promoting Youth Inclusion in Governance and Decision-making” project, ensuring that all activities align with the project’s objectives and contribute to the empowerment of youth. The Programme Coordinator will work closely with local partners, manage project teams, and monitor progress to ensure the effective execution of activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate project activities to meet objectives.
- Liaise with stakeholders and youth groups to ensure effective participation.
- Develop and monitor project work plans and budgets.
- Report on project progress, challenges, and achievements.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in program coordination, especially in youth empowerment or governance.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage teams and collaborate with various stakeholders.
- A passion for youth inclusion and governance.
2. Programme Officer
The Programme Officer will support the Programme Coordinator in the day-to-day management of the project. This role requires someone who can handle multiple tasks, facilitate youth-focused activities, and help ensure that youth voices are integrated into governance processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in organizing and facilitating youth workshops and engagement activities.
- Provide logistical support for project activities.
- Collect data and feedback to support program development.
- Engage with youth groups to understand their needs and ideas for inclusion.
Qualifications:
- Experience in youth development or governance programs.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- A deep commitment to youth empowerment and inclusion.
3. Driver
The Driver will be responsible for transporting project staff, partners, and materials to various project sites in Uganda. This position requires someone who is familiar with Ugandan roads and capable of ensuring safe and timely transportation for the project team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide safe and reliable transportation for project staff and materials.
- Ensure the vehicle is well-maintained and in good working order.
- Assist with logistics for project activities and events.
- Ensure compliance with all road safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- A valid driving license and experience driving in Uganda.
- Good knowledge of Uganda’s roads and safety practices.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
4. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Officer
The MEL Officer will play a critical role in ensuring that the project’s progress and impact are measured effectively. The MEL Officer will design and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks, track the project’s success, and provide insights for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation plans.
- Collect, analyze, and report data on project outcomes.
- Support learning activities and share lessons learned.
- Ensure data collection tools are effective and aligned with project goals.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in monitoring and evaluation, particularly in youth development or governance.
- Strong analytical skills and experience using M&E tools and software.
- Ability to communicate findings effectively.
- A commitment to learning and improving project strategies.
5. Finance Officer
The Finance Officer will manage the financial aspects of the project, ensuring that budgets are adhered to, expenses are tracked, and financial reports are generated. This role requires strong financial management skills and attention to detail to ensure transparency and accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage project budgets and financial reports.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies.
- Monitor project expenditures and provide financial oversight.
- Work closely with the Program Coordinator to ensure financial resources are allocated efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Experience in financial management, particularly in the NGO sector.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
