Program Overview
The Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens (BKMC), with generous support from Dubai Cares and in collaboration with Plan International and Unbounded Associates, is excited to announce the second edition of its flagship youth-focused initiative: the Your Future in Green Jobs Mentorship Program.
This program builds on the knowledge base of the Your Future in Green Jobs Online Course, and is specifically designed to empower and inspire youth aged 14 to 20 to explore green career paths.
By participating, young changemakers will gain valuable insight into sustainability careers, climate action, and how to turn passion into impact through guided mentorship and practical, action-based learning.
What You’ll Gain
Selected participants will embark on a transformative journey through:-
- Expert-led virtual workshops covering green skills, sustainable development, education, gender, and climate themes-
- Personalized one-on-one mentorship** from professionals currently working in green careers
- Hands-on experience through the design and implementation of a self-led SDG Micro-Project, applying skills and insights in real-world contexts
- Project management and presentation training to boost leadership, communication, and advocacy skills-
A global peer network of motivated youth leaders who share a commitment to environmental sustainability and social equity.

Program Structure and Timeline
May 2025: Participants notified and receive onboarding communication
June 2025: Virtual Kick-off Ceremony
June – August 2025: Weekly live Expert Workshops (14:00–16:00 CEST)
July – December 2025: Implementation of SDG Micro-Projects in local communities, guided by assigned mentors
December 2025: Online Graduation Ceremony and celebration of achievements Participants will be expected to stay engaged through online check-ins with their mentors and periodic touchpoints with the BKMC team.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the program, applicants must:
- Be between 14 and 20 years old
- Have successfully completed the Your Future in Green Jobs Online Course
- Demonstrate a strong motivation for sustainable development and climate action
- Be passionate about driving change in both local and global contexts
- Possess upper-intermediate
- English skills
- Have reliable internet access and be available for online sessions between 14:00–16:00 CEST

Language Competence: A short personal profile (interests, experiences, values)
Motivation & Aspirations:
- Career interests related to green jobs or sustainability
- The global or local challenges you are passionate about
- Any initial ideas for your SDG Micro-Project
Required Attachments
- A portrait photo (JPEG or PNG format)
- A short introduction video (max 1 minute, MP4 or MOV format), where you briefly introduce yourself, your passion, and what you hope to gain from the program
- A simple CV/resume (optional, but recommended)
Applications can be saved as a draft and completed anytime before the final submission deadline.
Selection Process
Only 22 exceptional young individuals will be selected through a competitive global process. The selection will be based on motivation, passion, potential impact of proposed micro-projects, and demonstrated interest in the green economy and sustainable development.
