Join the Urgent Action Fund (UAF-A&P) Asia & Pacific: Now Recruiting Research & Field-Building Consultants

The Urgent Action Fund, Asia and Pacific (UAF A&P) invites applications from committed and visionary individuals or small teams for an exciting consultancy opportunity focused on research and field-building through the lens of decolonial feminist collective care.
Rooted in intersectional feminist values, UAF A&P works to support the resilience and resistance of movements led by women and non-binary activists and defenders across the Asia and Pacific region.
This consultancy opportunity is an integral part of UAF A&P’s ongoing efforts to deepen knowledge, strengthen networks, and generate transformative feminist narratives grounded in regional realities. It invites those with a passion for community-centered research, feminist praxis, and movement building to co-create knowledge that reflects and strengthens the values of collective care.
About the Role:
Research & Field-Building Consultant(s) UAF A&P is seeking individual consultants or teams of 2–3 to collaborate on a research project that articulates a regionally grounded, decolonial feminist vision of collective care.
The work will explore what collective care looks like and feels like in practice across diverse contexts in Asia and the Pacific and how it can be communicated to global audiences.
This project aims to document and celebrate the practices of care that sustain resistance, activism, and community well-being in the face of systemic violence, repression, and burnout.
Key Elements of the Role:
Grounded Theory & Feminist Methodology: The research will start with a desk review of existing literature and work towards co-developing a qualitative methodology rooted in decolonial feminist frameworks. The methodology will be participatory and accountable to UAF A&P’s grantee partners.
Collaborative Knowledge Production: The consultant(s) will work closely with the UAF A&P team, drawing on their deep connections with frontline defenders and movement actors to produce meaningful and regionally relevant knowledge.
Vision-Building: This project is not only about documenting care practices, but also about imagining and articulating new feminist possibilities for collective care that resist capitalist and colonial narratives.
Global Sharing: The research will be designed with the intention to share its findings and insights on international platforms to inform and inspire broader feminist and philanthropic discourses.
