Exciting Fully-funded Inaugural Research Fellowship in Public Health Intelligence 2025 for Researchers

A Joint Initiative by the Charité Center for Global Health & WHO Hub for Pandemic and Epidemic Intelligence
The Charité Center for Global Health (CCGH), in collaboration with the WHO Hub for Pandemic and Epidemic Intelligence, proudly launches the inaugural Research Fellowship in Public Health Intelligence for 2025.
This prestigious program invites academic researchers from a range of disciplines and countries to contribute to global health research focused on pandemic and epidemic preparedness.
Fellowship Overview
Duration: June 2025 – December 2025
Length: 3 to 6 months (6 months preferred)
Location: Berlin, Germany
Host Institutions:Charité Center for Global Health (CCGH) & WHO Hub for Pandemic and Epidemic Intelligence
The fellowship is designed for mid- to senior-career postdoctoral researchers. Exceptional early-career researchers may be considered based on demonstrated expertise. The program aims to promote collaborative, applied research that informs real-world responses to health emergencies.
Research Focus Areas
Fellows will be expected to propose and pursue research projects aligned with priority topics, including:
- AI and Technological AdvancesData Preparedness
- Analytical Frameworks
- Multisectoral Approaches
- Other areas under Public Health Intelligence and Pandemic/Epidemic Research

Who Can Apply?
Eligibility Criteria:
- Postdoctoral researchers with a minimum of 5 years of research experience
- Mid-career (5–15 years) and senior-career researchers (15+ years)
- Applicants from diverse disciplines, including non-health sectors
- Strong English language skills (minimum C1 level)
- Permanent/fixed-term academic appointments or independent researchers
- Complete application package with a relevant research proposal

- Research products will be finalized in collaboration with host institutions during the initial phase of the fellowship.
Fellowship Funding and Support
The program provides comprehensive financial support, including:
Living Allowance: Based on the German public sector agreement (E14, Level 2)
Travel Support: Includes one round-trip and conference attendance within Europe
Publication Support: Covers fees for one publication
Insurance: Reimbursement for medical insurance costs
Note: Additional research project costs are not covered.
