Administration Associate (FCLP) – UNOPS Job Vacancy (2025–2026)
The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is currently inviting applications for the position of Administration Associate to support the Forest & Climate Leaders’ Partnership (FCLP). About UNOPS and the FCLP
UNOPS is a central resource within the United Nations system, providing specialized services in project management, procurement, and infrastructure to promote sustainable development, peacebuilding, and humanitarian assistance. The New York Portfolio Office (NYPO) works closely with UN agencies, multilateral partners, and governments to deliver UNOPS’ mission globally. Within NYPO, the Sustainable Development Cluster (SDC) supports multi-sectoral partners through a combination of portfolios, including the Development and Special Initiatives Portfolio (DSIP), under which this vacancy is placed.
The Forest & Climate Leaders’ Partnership (FCLP), supported by UNOPS DSIP, was launched by global leaders at COP27. It represents a focused and voluntary partnership of countries committed to halting and reversing forest loss and land degradation by 2030.
This commitment is aligned with the Glasgow Leaders Declaration on Forests and Land Use, and it supports global climate goals under the Paris Agreement. The FCLP plays a pivotal role in sustaining political momentum, encouraging ambitious national goals, and delivering measurable outcomes in the forest and climate agenda.
The FCLP is led by a Steering Committee comprising ministers from 12 founding member countries, including Colombia, France, Kenya, the UK, and the USA. The UK and Guyana serve as co-chairs. The initiative now includes 32 member countries, representing over 35% of the world’s forests and more than 60% of global GDP. Its Secretariat is staffed remotely and guided by the Secretariat Board.
Responsibilities of the Administration Associate
Reporting directly to the Deputy Director – Programme, the Administration Associate will play a vital supporting role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the Secretariat’s daily operations.

- Providing administrative and logistical support to the FCLP Secretariat
- Assisting in the planning, coordination, and execution of virtual and in-person meetings, workshops, and high-level events
- Supporting internal communications and documentation processes, including minute-taking, report drafting, and record management
- Facilitating the coordination of inputs across FCLP members and Secretariat personnel
- Assisting in communications and external engagement tasks under guidance;- Contributing to the efficient handling of budget tracking and procurement documentation
- Supporting onboarding and coordination of consultants, service providers, and administrative tasks tied to project implementation
- Performing other relevant duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements and Qualifications

Education:
- Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Administration, International Relations, Environmental Studies, or related field
- A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s) with additional experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree.
Experience:
- A minimum of six years of relevant professional experience in administration, project support, or coordination roles is required with a Bachelor’s degree (four years with a Master’s)
- Prior experience working in or supporting climate-focused international partnerships or multilateral projects is desirable
- Familiarity with the UN system and project-based work environments is an advantage.
Language:
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required
- Knowledge of another UN official language is an asset.
