Position Overview:
The Construction and Facility Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and maintenance of construction and infrastructure projects within the organization.
This position ensures that all projects at Still l Rise are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Additionally, the role entails managing facility maintenance, procurement, and logistics to support the organization’s operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- The Construction and Facility Manager is tasked with planning, coordinating, and managing construction and infrastructure projects from initiation to completion. This includes overseeing all aspects of the projects to ensure they align with the organization’s goals.
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and organizational standards is a core part of the role. The manager must ensure that all construction and facility operations adhere to legal and regulatory requirements.
- The manager will oversee contractors, vendors, and service providers, ensuring that they deliver quality work while remaining cost-effective. This includes monitoring contractor performance, quality of work, and adherence to project timelines.
- Resource allocation, budgeting, and procurement for both construction and facility needs are critical responsibilities. The manager is expected to optimize these areas to ensure that resources are used effectively and projects remain on budget.
- Maintaining and improving existing facilities to support operational requirements is essential. This includes overseeing necessary repairs, upgrades, and modifications to facilities to ensure they remain functional and compliant with safety standards.
- The manager will also be responsible for the procurement and logistics related to construction materials, equipment, and maintenance supplies, ensuring that all materials are sourced on time and within budget.
- Developing and implementing maintenance schedules is an ongoing responsibility. These schedules will help ensure that facilities function optimally and remain safe for employees and visitors. This includes organizing routine inspections and addressing any facility issues as they arise.
Qualifications & Skills:
- The ideal candidate will have proven experience in construction project management and facility maintenance, with a strong background in managing large-scale construction projects and ensuring their success.
- A deep understanding of safety regulations, building codes, and compliance standards is required to effectively navigate the regulatory environment associated with construction and facilities management.
- Excellent organizational, budgeting, and problem-solving skills are critical. The candidate must be able to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously while maintaining focus on both long-term and short-term objectives.
- The ability to manage contractors and coordinate multiple projects efficiently is necessary for the successful execution of projects.
- Experience in procurement and logistics will be an advantage, as this knowledge will help optimize the sourcing and management of materials, equipment, and other essential resources.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential for this role. The manager will need to interact with a variety of stakeholders, including contractors, vendors, internal teams, and external partners, to ensure smooth project execution and resolution of issues.
- Knowledge of Quantity Surveying will be a plus, as it will aid in cost estimation and project budgeting.
