Programme Coordinator Opportunity at Girl Effect: G.U.L.L.Y LAB Initiative (Delhi & Mumbai, Apply by 11 April 2025)

Girl Effect is currently recruiting two enthusiastic and dedicated Programme Coordinators for its G.U.L.L.Y (Girl Effect Urban Learning Labs for Youth) LAB initiative, with one position based in Delhi and the other in Mumbai.

About the G.U.L.L.Y LAB

The G.U.L.L.Y LABs serve as vibrant youth engagement hubs located within target communities in India. These labs empower young girls and boys to co-create solutions to challenges they face and to drive social and behavioral change.

The initiative addresses vital topics such as gender equity, reproductive health, leadership, digital safety, and economic empowerment.

Role Overview

Each Programme Coordinator will lead the operations of the G.U.L.L.Y LAB in either Delhi or Mumbai. Responsibilities include managing daily activities, working closely with youth champions and community stakeholders, organizing community events, and ensuring thorough reporting and documentation.

The coordinators will collaborate with local partners and report to the Program Lead, with dotted-line reporting to the Research and SBC Managers.

Key Responsibilities

Program Management:

  • Oversee day-to-day functioning of the G.U.L.L.Y LAB.
  • Ensure program activities are aligned with objectives and timelines.
  • Liaise with youth participants, on-ground staff, and implementation partners.
  • Organize events such as workshops, community mobilization sessions, and observation days.

Community Engagement:

  • Foster relationships with community stakeholders.
  • Facilitate community participation in gender-sensitive and inclusive programming.
  • Lead training, research, and content testing activities within the labs.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate documentation of activities, progress, and challenges.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Record and organize data related to training and community outreach.

Commitment and Work Environment**This is a full-time consultancy role for one year, with the possibility of extension. Coordinators are expected to work at the community center for at least three days per week and travel within the city as needed.

Location

Applicants must be based in either Delhi or Mumbai, as positions are specific to each location.

Who Should Apply

We are looking for professionals with:- A degree in gender studies, sociology, anthropology, social work, psychology, or a related field.

  • One to three years of relevant experience in public health, gender-based violence, youth mobilization, or sexual and reproductive health.
  • Familiarity with qualitative research and community mobilization.
  • Strong understanding of gender and youth issues in India.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi (Marathi is desirable for the Mumbai role).
  • A youth-friendly, gender-inclusive, and sex-positive approach.
  • Ability to design and adapt content for diverse audiences.

Proposal Submission Requirements

Interested candidates must submit a proposal (maximum 10 pages), including:

1. A CV with two professional references.

2. A cover letter outlining understanding of the role, motivation, and proposed contributions to the G.U.L.L.Y LAB.

3. A cost breakdown, including a monthly billing rate and applicable taxes in INR.

Evaluation and Selection

Applications will be evaluated based on qualifications (30%), technical knowledge (20%), cover letter (20%), and financial proposal (30%). Proposals must be valid for 90 days.
