Job Title: Learning & Impact Manager

About Learning Equality
Founded in 2013 by a group of PhD students with a shared vision to provide equitable access to quality education, Learning Equality focuses on ensuring educational opportunities for individuals who lack reliable internet connectivity. In 2025, a third of the world’s population still has no internet access, and 251 million children and youth remain out of school. Even more are deprived of consistent access to digital learning.
Over the past 12 years, Learning Equality has evolved from bringing Khan Academy’s exercises offline to becoming a pivotal player in the global edtech space. By providing offline-first, needs-driven educational tools, we’ve empowered over 10 million learners in underserved communities across 220+ countries. We are committed to building agency for learners, teachers, and organizations by co-designing solutions that meet their unique needs and support quality, student-centered learning in resource-limited contexts.
Backed by organizations such as the Hewlett Foundation, UNHCR, and the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation, we are expanding our reach and deepening our impact to ensure that more underserved communities have access to transformative digital learning experiences.
Position Overview
We are looking for a Learning & Impact Manager to help measure and communicate the impact of our programs during an exciting phase of our organization’s growth. The ideal candidate will bring experience in monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning (MEL) to support our work and will contribute to shaping evidence-driven strategies to improve educational outcomes. This is a dynamic, remote position that requires a passion for global education, a deep understanding of the needs of underserved communities, and an ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
Impact Strategy & Development
- Develop and implement Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) frameworks aligned with strategic initiatives, such as programs focused on literacy and numeracy skills.
- Co-develop research studies with partners to assess the impact of student-centered, tech-enabled learning, using both experimental and quasi-experimental methods.
- Strengthen MEL capacity through training, participatory approaches, and the dissemination of Learning Equality’s MEL Toolkit, providing partners with tools for scalable data collection, survey instruments, and evaluation guides tailored to diverse educational contexts.
- Support data-driven decision-making by helping partners use teaching and learning data to improve the use of Kolibri, Learning Equality’s offline learning platform.
Data, Reporting & Learning
- Analyze data from the implementation of Kolibri to assess its impact in various learning environments, tracking engagement metrics such as user activity, lesson creation, and content mastery.
- Produce insightful reports and presentations that communicate program impact, refining outreach, training, and support strategies.
- Collaborate with statisticians and internal teams to track Kolibri’s global reach and its effectiveness in offline learning environments.
- Bridge technical and practical knowledge by translating research findings into actionable insights for internal teams and external partners.
Long-Term Growth and Organizational Impact
- Lead the development of Learning Equality’s organizational impact strategy, embedding equitable, data-driven MEL practices into the organization’s work.
- Contribute to the development of evidence-driven strategies for scaling Kolibri’s impact and ensuring its continued relevance and adaptability in offline, underserved environments.
