About APRI
APRI—Africa Policy Research Institute is an independent, nonpartisan institute researching key policy issues affecting the African continent. Its goals are to provide input to the German and EU policy-making processes on Africa and options on key policy issues to African stakeholders.
To do this, APRI taps into the expertise of African intellectuals, scholars, and networks, collaborating with a wide range of organisations at home and abroad to conduct policy research that looks beyond prevailing narratives and transcends disciplinary hegemonies to centre Africa. Its outputs include reports, policy briefs and short analyses with the goal of expanding to other innovative ways of disseminating its work.
Description
APRI seeks a highly motivated and enthusiastic research intern to support and contribute to its Trade and Technology Transfer research. The ideal candidate will have relevant research experience and knowledge of Trade and Technology Transfer, especially in the context of the African continent.
Duties and responsibilities
- Provide research, writing, data analysis and editing support on the various topics of the program;
- Assist the organisation of conferences, workshops, webinars, and other events;
- Collaborate on the development and execution of online content (images, infographics, factsheets, videos, blogs, etc.);
- Provide administrative and general support to the project team.
Requirements
- For applicants currently registered in Europe, you still need to be enrolled in a European university (German: Pflichtpraktikum);
- Completed graduate studies in a relevant social science field;
- Strong research and analytical skills in Trade and Technology Transfer in an African context;
- Excellent writing skills and command of English (written and spoken);
- Self-starter who can work independently; is reliable and flexible; knows how to organise and prioritise tasks;
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
