This exciting project, led by UNESCO in collaboration with Nestlé, is part of the Nestlé Youth Entrepreneurship Platform. It’s designed to empower young people to make a difference by supporting them with the resources, skills, and mentorship they need to bring their climate-focused projects to life.
What is Youth Impact – Because You Matter?
This global initiative is seeking to identify and support 100 youth-led projects that focus on environmental sustainability and climate action. The goal is to help young leaders implement innovative projects that can positively impact their communities and contribute to the fight against climate change.
What You’ll Receive
If you’re selected as one of the 100 project leaders, you will be awarded:
- A grant of USD 8,500 to support the implementation of your project
- Training and one-on-one mentorship throughout the project’s execution, guiding you every step of the way

Focus Areas for Project Proposals
The initiative focuses on climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies that aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and slow global warming. Here are some key areas of interest for project proposals:
- Promoting Low-Carbon Economies: Advocating for the sustainable use of renewable energy sources.
- Strengthening Public Education and Awareness: Raising awareness of climate change and its impact on local communities.
- Assessing Climate-Related Risks: Addressing risks to natural and cultural sites affected by climate change.
- Enhancing Ecosystem Resilience: Protecting ecosystems to mitigate cascading effects on human livelihoods.
- Upholding Ethical Principles: Promoting climate justice, sustainability, solidarity, and protecting future generations.
Eligibility Criteria
We are looking for youth-led projects that align with the goals of environmental sustainability and climate action. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to be part of a transformative 6-month journey where they will receive mentoring from experts at Nestlé and UNESCO.
- 20 grants per UNESCO region: Africa, Arab Region, Asia and Pacific, Europe and North America, Latin America and the Caribbean.
- Global Impact: 100 grants in total will be awarded to youth from around the world.
