The University of South Africa (UNISA) invites applications for its 2025 Internship Programme

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME 2025

The University of South Africa (UNISA) is pleased to invite applications for its Internship Programme for 2025. The programme is designed to provide recent graduates with valuable practical experience in various fields. The following categories of candidates are eligible to apply:

  • Unemployed South African Citizens who have completed a UNISA qualification equivalent to NQF level 6, 7, or higher.
  • Applicants with no formal work experience in the field of application are preferred.
  • Previous interns (either at UNISA or any other organization) are not eligible to reapply for the programme.
  • Applicants must accurately indicate their UNISA student number and the position reference on the portal.
  • For those applying to multiple positions, applications must be submitted individually for each position.
  • Age Limit: Applicants must be 35 years old or younger.
  • Only UNISA graduates in the required field(s) of study are eligible to apply.

Available Internship Positions

1. SBA/06/2025 – Learning Centre (ODeL Support Hub)

  • Number of Positions: 6
  • Location: Sunnyside Campus, Gauteng
  • Minimum Qualification Required:
    • Bachelor of Commerce in Business Informatics, or
    • Bachelor of Science in Informatics, or
    • Bachelor of Arts in Archives and Records Management and Information Science
      Additional Advantage: Being currently registered for or having completed a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education).

  • Minimum Qualification Required:
    • Diploma in Civil Engineering, or
    • Diploma in Electrical Engineering
      Additional Advantage: Being currently registered for or having completed a PGCE.

  • Number of Positions: 6
  • Location: Sunnyside Campus, Gauteng
  • Minimum Qualification Required:
    • Bachelor of Arts in Visual Multimedia Arts, or
    • Diploma in Marketing Management, or
    • Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing Management, or
    • Bachelor of Arts in Communication Science, or
    • Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies
      Additional Advantage: Being currently registered for or having completed a PGCE.

Competencies Required for All Positions

  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office 365 and internet usage.
  • Good interpersonal skills, effective communication, and professional telephone etiquette.
  • Ability to work in a team and take initiative under constant supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Sense of commitment, responsibility, and punctuality.
  • Proficiency in English (verbal and written).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all work-related matters.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.

Internship Details

  • Duration: 12 months
  • Stipend: R120,925.00 per annum
  • Commencement Date: 1st May 2025
  • Relocation: Successful candidates will be responsible for their own relocation expenses.
  • Background Checks: All successful candidates will undergo background checks.
  • Closing Date: 28th March 2025 (Applications must be submitted before 11:59 PM on this date).
