Are you passionate about driving meaningful change through research, evidence, and learning? Christian Aid is seeking an experienced Research, Evidence, and Learning (REL) Advisor for a 6-month fixed-term contract to help bring impactful change to the world through innovative research practices. This position is open to nationals of the country where the role is based and offers the flexibility of full-time or part-time work arrangements.

About the Role
The REL Advisor will work within Christian Aid’s Research, Evidence, and Learning (REL) Hub, part of the Programme Policy, Research, and Learning team (PPRL). You will focus on helping Christian Aid’s evidence and learning to come to life through its application across various contexts. The successful applicant will take on multiple responsibilities, including:
- Packaging Research Methods: Collaborating with the REL team to develop diverse research methods aimed at shifting power in research, particularly in communities living in poverty.
- Train-the-Trainer Module: Producing training materials to empower others in delivering the research methods program.
- Case Studies: Writing up impactful case studies of research projects to highlight Christian Aid’s influence.
- Facilitating Learning Events: Organizing and leading learning events to foster engagement within the team and across partners.
- Integrating Research into MCC Model: Contributing to the integration of evidence and learning into Christian Aid’s new MCC model.
In addition to key projects, the REL Advisor will be involved in providing technical support to colleagues across Christian Aid, offering advice on research design, partnerships, and the quality of evidence generated.
About You
You should be someone who enjoys working in a dynamic, practice-based setting, and has the following:
- Strong understanding of learning design, especially in online pedagogy and blended learning.
- Experience developing and delivering digital learning, particularly for research methods.
- Comprehensive experience in applied research: From identifying relevant research questions to developing strategies that lead to real-world impact.
- Interest in AI: Familiarity with the role of artificial intelligence in developing research practices.
- Global Experience: Comfort in working with colleagues across different cultures and regions.
- Strong interpersonal skills: Ability to build relationships across departments and offer guidance in reflective practice and research.
