Become a UNV Youth on the Move Mentor: 2025 Applications Now Open!

A Transformative Opportunity

The Youth on the Move Mentor Application 2025 is now open, offering a unique opportunity for emerging leaders to guide and support young professionals in the migration and displacement space. This initiative, a collaboration between UNICEF, UN Volunteers (UNV), and the Migration Youth and Children Platform (MYCP), is designed to foster mentorship, professional development, and personal growth.

A Meaningful Role in a Structured Program

Serving as a peer mentor in the Youth on the Move Programme is an important responsibility that extends beyond professional guidance. Over the course of 12 months, mentors will be paired with UN Volunteers (Mentees) for a period of 3 to 6 months before transitioning to a new mentee, ensuring a dynamic and impactful mentoring experience. On average, mentors will dedicate 6 to 7 hours per month to their mentees, helping them navigate career challenges and opportunities.

The structured mentorship journey focuses on five key areas:

  • Providing Support: Whether addressing professional challenges or offering personal development advice, mentors play a crucial role in guiding mentees through their journey.
  • Goal Setting: Mentors assist mentees in defining clear objectives for the program and identifying actionable steps to achieve them. Collaborative
  • Growth: Mentors and mentees work together on mutual goals, sharing experiences and strategies for success.
  • Building Connections: Professional networking can be daunting, and mentors help mentees establish relationships and contacts crucial for career advancement.
  • Sharing Knowledge and Experiences: As mentees plan their next steps whether enrolling in university, launching a venture, or entering a professional field mentors provide valuable insights and guidance.

Who Can Apply?

This opportunity is open to youth professionals and emerging leaders between the ages of 20 and 35 who have demonstrated experience and accomplishments in areas such as migration and displacement, youth advocacy, entrepreneurship, academic achievements, or working with international and multilateral organizations.
