Open Call: Youth Empowerment Fund 2025 – Funding Opportunities for Youth-Led Initiatives!! (grants from €500-€5000)

The Youth Empowerment Fund (YEF) is now accepting applications for its 2025 Open Call! A collaboration between the European Union (EU) and Global Youth Mobilization (GYM), an initiative of the Big Six Youth Organizations, this fund provides direct financial support to youth-led initiatives aimed at implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the local level.
Empowering Youth to Create Change
The Youth Empowerment Fund is committed to supporting young changemakers, particularly those from under-represented backgrounds. Whether facing socio-economic challenges, gender barriers, disabilities, or climate-related vulnerabilities, young people can access funding to implement solutions that positively impact their communities.
Applications are open from March 3, 2025, to March 24, 2025 (23:59 CET).
Why Apply for the Youth Empowerment Fund?
Access to Funding:
Grants range from €500–€1,500 for individuals and informal groups and up to €5,000 for registered youth-led organizations.
Supporting Under-Represented Communities:
A key focus is funding initiatives that uplift marginalized groups, including those affected by climate change, gender barriers, and disabilities.
Climate and Sustainability Focus:
Projects addressing environmental issues, climate action, and sustainability are highly encouraged. In the last funding cycle, 56% of funded projects supported SDG 13Climate Action.

Applications are assessed by a diverse, experienced panel of young reviewers from across the world.
Capacity Building and Accelerator Program:
Selected projects receive mentorship, training, and access to global youth leadership networks, with an opportunity for additional funding and project scaling.
Who Can Apply?
Young individuals aged 14 to 30 from eligible countries can submit applications under the following categories:
- Young individuals
- Informal groups
- Registered youth-led organizations
- Projects must align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a special emphasis on: Initiatives led by or for under-represented youth, including those affected by climate change, gender barriers, and disabilities.
- Projects tackling climate change and environmental sustainability.

To ensure an inclusive application experience, the process is designed to be simple and accessible. The application is available in Arabic, English, French, and Spanish, and applicants can submit supporting videos via Google Drive, YouTube, or Dropbox.
