Job Opportunity: Join WINGS in Advancing Philanthropy in Latin America & the Caribbean as a Coordinator

Job Summary: As part of the WINGS 2023-2027 Strategic Plan, the Latin America and the Caribbean Coordinator will play a key role in strengthening and growing WINGS’ network in the region. This position is integral to ensuring that WINGS’ members in Latin America and the Caribbean are engaged, supported, and actively contributing to the global philanthropic landscape. The role will be a primary contact point for members, facilitate networking, and raise the profile of regional philanthropy practices.

Key Objectives:

  1. Network Growth and Engagement:
    • Recruit and onboard new members in the region, working closely with WINGS’ Network and Engagement team.
    • Coordinate daily communication and activities with the Latin American and Caribbean Working Group (LAC Group) to support regional philanthropic efforts.
    • Facilitate cross-regional exchanges by working closely with global working groups to ensure the engagement of regional members in global efforts.
    • Collaborate with WINGS colleagues to support efforts on advocacy, SDGs, climate action, and other relevant philanthropic issues.
  2. Strengthening Philanthropy Ecosystems:
    • Develop and implement project plans to track progress and carry out activities that foster regional growth and collaboration.
    • Coordinate philanthropy ecosystem mappings at the regional and national levels to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities.
    • Identify capacity-building needs within the region and provide solutions to increase sustainability and collaboration.
    • Leverage WINGS’ global network to convene philanthropic players and strengthen regional and subregional philanthropy infrastructures.
  3. Contribute to WINGS’ Global Mission:
    • Support capacity-building efforts and knowledge production to benefit philanthropy networks.
    • Lead fundraising activities for regional work, including proposal writing and donor engagement.
    • Help advance WINGS’ mission by contributing to communications and supporting resource acquisition initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regularly interact with members in the region and provide ongoing support.
  • Organize online and in-person events to foster collaboration and innovation in philanthropy.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure regional efforts align with global initiatives and strategies.
  • Take responsibility for fundraising in the region, ensuring sustainability of regional activities.

Requirements:

  • Location: Based in a country in Latin America or the Caribbean.
  • Languages: Fluent in English and Spanish (strong writing skills required). Portuguese is a plus.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience, including project or network coordination in nonprofits (philanthropy experience is a plus).
    • Knowledge of the philanthropic sector and civil society in Latin America and the Caribbean.
    • Experience in fundraising, including proposal writing for foundations.
  • Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
    • Proficient in computer software and database systems.
  • Availability: Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time.

Compensation: The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 29,750 to 40,240, based on geographic location and other factors.
