Position Overview

The Private Fundraising and Partnerships Division (PFP) within UNICEF’s Country Office Development and Support (CODAS) is looking for a consultant to support digital fundraising activities in the Eastern and Southern Africa (ESA) and West and Central Africa (WCA) regions. This consultant will focus on implementing and evaluating digital fundraising campaigns, primarily in the context of achieving UNICEF’s 2025 goals.

The consultant will work with various internal and external teams to ensure successful digital fundraising operations and will be instrumental in shaping the strategies for future years.

Scope of Work

Reporting to the PFP Senior Advisor, CODAS, and collaborating with teams from regional offices (RO), ICT, and external agencies, the consultant will:

  1. Implement Digital Fundraising:
    • Lead digital fundraising activities in WCA and support ESA regions.
    • Help execute and evaluate digital investment strategies across different channels and suppliers to maximize Return on Investment (ROI).
    • Coordinate and implement emergency fundraising campaigns.
  2. Collaboration & Strategy:
    • Work with the Communications and Individual Giving specialists to enhance acquisition strategies, integrate channels, and support retention efforts.
    • Oversee the relationship with suppliers and agencies involved in digital fundraising.
    • Manage and optimize UNICEFโ€™s Global Giving Platform for digital campaigns.
  3. Capacity Building & Training:
    • Provide training for digital personnel in regional offices to manage future campaigns independently.
    • Share best practices between markets and regional offices.
  4. Analytics and Reporting:
    • Monitor and analyze online advertising campaigns, making proposals for improvements.
    • Work with agencies and technical suppliers to develop digital dashboards that gather key performance indicators (KPIs) on digital campaigns.
    • Generate monthly progress reports on the implementation of digital tests and strategies.

Key Deliverables:

  • Monthly progress reports on digital fundraising activities, focusing on the execution of plans and achievement of KPIs.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • A Masterโ€™s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Fundraising, or related fields, OR a first-level university degree combined with two years of relevant experience.
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of professional experience in digital fundraising or digital marketing and implementation.
    • Experience working in developing markets, particularly in Africa.
    • Proven track record of working across multiple markets and collaborating in multi-cultural teams.
  • Languages:
    • Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in other UN languages is a plus.
  • Skills & Assets:
    • Experience with UNICEFโ€™s PSFR systems or similar digital platforms.
    • Knowledge of digital marketing asset creation and analytics is advantageous.

Payment & Terms:

  • Payment will be based on the submission of agreed deliverables.
  • Consultants must include their all-inclusive fees (lump sum, including any administrative or travel costs) in their cover letter.

  • This position is home-based, with a requirement to collaborate with teams based in various regions.
