Exciting Fully-funded EcoSciGen 2025 Climate Research Workshop -6 Month Training Program for Young Africans

About the Program
The Climate Research Workshop is a transformative 6-month training program designed specifically for young individuals in Africa who are eager to address climate change through research. This unique opportunity aims to empower participants by providing the knowledge and skills necessary to become independent researchers in the climate space. Through a combination of intellectual development, capacity building, knowledge sharing, and hands-on training, the program seeks to reshape the way young people in Africa view climate change—not just as a challenge, but as an opportunity for impactful change.
What We Offer
The EcoSciGen Climate Research Workshop begins with scientific research training, where participants will be equipped with the skills to become expert writers and science communicators. Following this, the program includes climate change training to deepen participants’ understanding of the science behind climate change and its interconnected issues. The final phase of the program involves collaborative research efforts, where participants will conduct original research on climate-related topics and aim to get their findings published in peer-reviewed journals.
Program Breakdown
Scientific Research Training (2 months)
In this initial phase, participants will receive in-depth training on research methodologies, including research design, literature reviews, data collection and analysis, effective writing, communication, and project management. This phase aims to provide young scholars with the tools necessary for independent research and to transform them into active contributors in the scientific community.
Climate Change Knowledge Training (1 month)
Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of climate change, covering topics such as earth history, physical science of climate change, and climate solutions. This virtual training program includes diverse workshops, speakers, and collaborative group work, giving participants the knowledge to generate innovative solutions and enhance the global scientific understanding of climate change.
Collaboration and Mentorship (3 months)
In this final phase, participants will collaborate in teams, combining their unique expertise to write a research paper addressing a key climate-related issue. During this period, they will be mentored by academics and experts who will guide their work and provide support to ensure the research is rigorous and impactful.
