About the Role
The Communications Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the UNDP India Country Office’s Communications and Partnerships team, specifically focusing on the Sustainable and Inclusive Growth portfolio. This includes projects like “Boosting Female Labor Force Participation through Strengthened Urban Care Ecosystem”. The role aims to enhance communication strategies, visibility, and outreach for the UNDP’s work in India, in alignment with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The role will involve both strategic planning and hands-on execution of communication activities, including managing digital content, media relations, knowledge sharing, and advocacy strategies. The successful candidate will work closely with UNDP’s internal teams, stakeholders, and partners to build public awareness, advocate for policy changes, and ensure the visibility of UNDP’s projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Implement Communication and Outreach Strategy:
- Design and implement communication strategies for Boosting FLFPR and other initiatives.
- Integrate advocacy efforts and communication plans into all aspects of program planning and reporting.
- Align communication activities with UNDP’s global and country office priorities.
- Create media engagement and social media plans.
- Enhance Digital Presence:
- Develop targeted social media campaigns to raise awareness.
- Create webpages and regular project updates on the UNDP India website.
- Use digital platforms and tools to increase visibility and engagement for the projects.
- Facilitate Knowledge Management:
- Produce newsletters and knowledge products to share updates and lessons learned with stakeholders.
- Ensure high-quality content development for dissemination.
- Share best practices and lessons learned within UNDP and with external stakeholders.
- Support Business Development and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Engage media outlets to amplify the project’s reach.
- Support donor communications and reporting.
- Organize round-table discussions, press conferences, and other events to raise awareness and share progress.

- Event Management: Experience in organizing press conferences, events, and launches.
Required Skills and Experience
- Education:
- A Master’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Social Science, or related field.
- A Bachelor’s degree combined with two years of relevant professional experience may also be considered.
- Experience:
- For a Master’s degree holder: No prior professional experience required.
- For a Bachelor’s degree holder: At least 2 years of relevant experience in development communication, journalism, or public relations.
- Proven experience in media relations, strategic outreach, and public information campaigns.
- Familiarity with gender equality, inclusivity, and development sector communication is a plus.
- Experience working with international organizations, particularly in media, advocacy, or communications roles, is desirable.
- Skills:
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English and Hindi.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong digital content creation and social media management skills.
- Competence in creating newsletters, articles, and press releases.
