Strategic Communication of Land Restoration Masterclass: Apply Now!

The G20 Global Land Initiative (GLI), in collaboration with the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), is offering a fully funded 5-day course for communicators passionate about raising awareness on land degradation and solutions for restoring and managing at-risk land. If you’re a journalist, podcaster, social media influencer, photographer, videographer, environmental activist, or advocate, this course is for you!

About the Course:

This immersive course in London (covering flights, accommodation, and meals) will equip participants with the knowledge and tools to communicate effectively about land restoration. Key topics include:

  • Introduction to Land Restoration: Understanding the problem and the solutions.
  • Power & Systems Thinking: Strategies for effective influencing.
  • Strategic Communications: How to craft a persuasive narrative.
  • Media Engagement: Navigating a crowded public sphere.
  • Broadening Communication Tools: Using VR, AR, online platforms, AI, filmmaking, and citizen journalism.
  • Site Visit: Experience a land restoration project in the UK.

Participants will develop a communications strategy for a land restoration challenge in their own countries. The best strategies will be awarded funding for implementation. Upon completion, all graduates will receive a certificate.

How to Apply:

To apply, submit a short communications output related to a land restoration initiative in your country. This can be in the form of:

  • A long-form media story (documentary, feature, etc.)
  • A blog or vlog post
  • A podcast or social media story on any platform
