Organized by the World Food Forum (WFF) and the FAO Liaison Office in Geneva, in technical cooperation with the International Labour Organization (ILO), this event focuses on empowering youth, women, and girls in securing sustainable rural employment. The assembly will provide an opportunity to share insights, ideas, and action steps to improve livelihoods and promote economic inclusion through decent rural employment.
Objectives:
- Facilitate knowledge exchange: Bring together youth, experts, and policymakers to collaborate on rural youth employment.
- Empower women and girls: Promote equitable access to resources, education, and decision-making, and improve working conditions. Highlight the role of digital innovations and partnerships in driving inclusive and sustainable agrifood systems transformation.
- Create actionable solutions: Develop practical strategies and policies to support and empower youth, women, and girls in securing rural employment, leading to improved livelihoods and economic inclusion.
- Strengthen collaborations: Integrate knowledge exchange on rural youth employment into the WFF Gender Action Team, fostering stronger policy alignment and gender-responsive approaches.

- Actionable recommendations: Develop clear strategies and policies to empower women and girls in rural employment.
- Knowledge sharing platform: Build a collaborative space for youth, experts, and policymakers to exchange insights and solutions on rural youth employment.
