Position Overview:
As a Programme Policy Officer, the job holder will provide support to policy and programme activities, ensuring that food assistance needs are effectively addressed in crisis contexts. The role involves managing significant projects, ensuring coordination across programs, conducting research, and working with both internal and external stakeholders to inform decisions and drive positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to developing a variety of projects and processes aligned with programme policies and guidance.
- Provide project management support for large and complex programs, ensuring adherence to WFP standards.
- Develop and manage data collection systems to monitor and maintain quality standards.
- Conduct research and analysis on policy and operational issues to shape the development of programs.
- Prepare timely reports that support informed decision-making and ensure consistency across stakeholder communications.
- Liaise with internal and external counterparts, ensuring effective collaboration and managing risks in project delivery.
- Assist in capacity building efforts by providing training inputs and guiding junior staff.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Advanced University degree in International Affairs, Economics, Nutrition, Agriculture, or related fields. Alternatively, a First University Degree with significant managerial experience is also considered.
- Experience: A minimum of three years of relevant professional (managerial) experience, particularly in humanitarian contexts.
- Languages: Fluency in English is required.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in diverse and complex environments, particularly in crisis settings.
- Proficiency in stakeholder management and advocacy.

- Previous work experience in humanitarian organizations, particularly in the North-East region.
