Job Summary:
The OHCHR is seeking Young and Emerging Evaluators (YEEs) to join its evaluation consultancy roster for upcoming human rights-related programme and project evaluations. Selected consultants will assess various programmes, focusing on relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, impact, and sustainability, with a specific emphasis on gender equality, disability inclusion, and human rights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct desk reviews and scoping remote interviews with OHCHR staff.
- Perform data collection, including interviews during missions to project/programme locations.
- Analyze data and prepare draft and final evaluation reports.
- Conduct preliminary findings workshops and draft presentations for discussions.
- Deliver final evaluation reports, briefs, PowerPoint presentations, and translations if needed.
- Ensure all evaluations adhere to UNEG Norms and Standards and integrate human rights, gender equality, and disability inclusion.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience for Young and Emerging Evaluators (YEEs).
- Advanced university degree in law, political science, international relations, economics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience conducting evaluations on human rights, political affairs, international relations, or related fields.
- Experience working in countries such as Colombia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Liberia, Mozambique, Kenya, Iraq, and others.
- Knowledge of integrating gender equality, disability inclusion, and human rights principles in evaluations is an advantage.
- Fluency in oral and written English is required; knowledge of other UN official languages is desirable.
