The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Samsung Mobile are excited to announce the expansion of Generation17 – a dynamic initiative aimed at empowering young changemakers who are actively working toward achieving the Global Goals. If you lead an initiative focused on the Global Goals and are passionate about creating meaningful change, we encourage you to apply and join the Generation17 Young Leaders’ Community. The application deadline is January 5, 2025, at 11:59 P.M. EST.

As part of the Generation17 initiative, UNDP and Samsung Mobile will offer mentorship, technology, knowledge, and global platforms to help amplify your impact, raise visibility for your organization(s), and accelerate your progress.
About Generation17
Launched in 2020, Generation17 is a joint initiative between UNDP and Samsung that elevates the voices of young leaders working towards the 17 Global Goals. This initiative provides the necessary resources to help young leaders overcome barriers to creating change. To date, Generation17 has supported 16 young leaders from six regions, all addressing critical issues related to the Global Goals. With this new open call for applications, the partnership aims to broaden its reach, empowering even more young leaders to take concrete action.
Why the Global Goals Matter
The Global Goals are a shared blueprint consisting of 17 ambitious milestones aimed at creating a more just, equitable, and sustainable world by 2030. As we approach the halfway point, there’s an urgent need for people around the world to leverage their influence and collective power to take meaningful action. Through Generation17, UNDP and Samsung are committed to supporting young changemakers who are driving this progress.
In addition to Generation17, UNDP and Samsung MX have collaborated to create the Samsung Global Goals App, which connects millions of Galaxy users to vital information about the Global Goals. The app also offers a platform for users to contribute to UNDP’s global initiatives through education and donations.
