Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
The Communications Officer will work under the supervision of the Head of UNESCO-UNEVOC, collaborating closely with other team members. Primary duties include:
- Developing and implementing comprehensive communication strategies.
- Managing editorial content across websites and social media channels.
- Designing and executing campaigns to promote international events and projects.
- Drafting articles, press releases, speeches, and other materials.
- Overseeing publication processes, including translations, design, and editing.
- Coordinating the production of infographics, videos, and other materials.
- Supporting training program development in collaboration with team members.
- Supervising interns and monitoring their performance.
- Preparing periodic progress reports and annual activity plans.
Candidate Requirements
Ideal candidates should bring a blend of academic qualifications, professional experience, and key skills:
- Education: Advanced degree in communications, public relations, journalism, international relations, education, or related fields. A first-level degree with additional experience may also be considered.
- Experience: At least four years of relevant professional experience, ideally in international environments, with prior exposure to the UN system being advantageous.
- Skills: Proven expertise in developing communication strategies, excellent editorial skills, strong analytical abilities, and the capacity to work effectively in multicultural settings.
- Languages: Fluency in English is required; knowledge of another UN language is an added advantage.
