World Heritage Scholarship 2025: Connect Cultures Through Creative Projects

Applications are now open for the World Heritage Scholarship, an international residency designed to foster creative and cultural projects related to the UNESCO World Heritage list. This prestigious program invites individuals from around the globe artists, researchers, and other cultural actors to connect Sweden’s Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland with one or more World Heritage sites worldwide through cultural or artistic initiatives.
Scholarship Details
- Residency: A four-week stay at one or two of Hälsingland’s Decorated Farmhouses.
- Scholarship: A grant of SEK 50,000 to support living and work expenses for the project.
- Eligibility: Open to individuals of all nationalities and disciplines.
Past Recognition
In 2024, artist Paul Wiersbinski from Berlin was awarded for his project “The Perfect House”, which artistically linked Hälsingland’s farmhouses with the Berlin Modernism Housing Estates. The work merged urban Berlin with rural Hälsingland in a compelling film, creating a dialogue on aesthetics and historical memory.
