About YCJF
The Youth Climate Justice Fund (YCJF) supports youth-led climate justice movements worldwide through trust-based funding, capacity development, and advocacy. Since its launch during NY Climate Week 2023, YCJF has provided funding to over 90 groups across 45+ countries. This is an exciting time to join a growing team dedicated to systemic change for global climate justice.
Role Overview
The Learning Manager will:
- Lead impact measurement, evaluation, and learning practices.
- Document and share evidence-based insights for improving YCJF’s strategies.
- Advocate for increased investment in youth-led climate action by refining and showcasing YCJF’s impact through research and collaboration.
This role is ideal for a candidate passionate about Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL), committed to climate justice, and experienced in working with diverse communities and teams.
Key Responsibilities
Impact Measurement
- Develop clear qualitative and quantitative metrics aligned with YCJF’s Theory of Change.
- Create user-friendly tools (e.g., surveys, case studies, interviews) for impact analysis.
- Simplify reporting for grantee partners while gathering and analyzing strategic feedback.
Evaluation and Learning
- Lead knowledge-sharing initiatives with YCJF grantees and stakeholders.
- Build a robust knowledge management system for internal learning.
- Coordinate YCJF’s annual report and other learning outputs.
- Create value-aligned safeguarding policies for grantee partners.
Research & Insights
- Lead research and develop reports for external audiences.
- Design key performance indicators to inform YCJF’s 2026–2030 strategic framework.
- Gather and synthesize insights from regional partners and grassroots youth groups.
Candidate Profile
Experience
- 5+ years in nonprofit roles with facilitation, training, and MEL experience.
- Proven track record of leading qualitative research, facilitating learning sessions, and managing teams in globally distributed settings.
- Commitment to supporting underrepresented groups and tackling systemic oppression.
Skills
- Expertise in quantitative data management and analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau).
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Capacity to lead collaborative frameworks while working independently.
- Multilingualism (YCJF languages such as Swahili, Spanish, French, etc.) is highly valued.
