Role Overview

Save the Children International is seeking a Head of Learning & Leadership Development to shape and drive a forward-thinking learning strategy, ensuring our global workforce is empowered to deliver exceptional outcomes. This role will champion continuous learning, diversity, equity, and inclusion, fostering individual and organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive learning and development strategy, frameworks, and curricula across areas such as leadership, management, personal effectiveness, and organizational capabilities.
    • Design global, scalable learning solutions that leverage technology to enhance accessibility and impact.
  2. Collaboration and Innovation:
    • Work closely with People Partners and other stakeholders to identify needs and design impactful learning initiatives.
    • Foster a culture of inclusivity by embedding diversity, equity, and inclusion into all training materials and methodologies.
  3. Evaluation and Improvement:
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of learning interventions to ensure alignment with organizational goals and continuous improvement.
  4. Leadership Development:
    • Mentor and guide a team of L&D specialists to deliver the organizational learning strategy effectively.
    • Act as a role model for capability-building standards across the global organization.
  5. Cultural Competence:
    • Promote awareness and respect for diverse cultural perspectives within learning initiatives to enhance organizational inclusivity.

Required Experience and Skills

Essential:

  • Extensive Expertise: Proven leadership in end-to-end learning and development strategies at scale.
  • Innovative Thinking: Experience with future-focused learning design, instructional design, and agile approaches to blended learning solutions.
  • Diversity Champion: Significant experience in fostering inclusive learning environments and integrating DEI principles.
  • Strategic Alignment: Experience collaborating with senior leaders to prioritize learning initiatives in line with organizational goals.
  • Global Mindset: Substantial experience implementing solutions in a global, multi-market context.
  • Creative Problem-Solving: Strong ability to design innovative solutions and manage competing priorities effectively.

Desirable:

  • Coaching and mentoring experience.
  • HR qualifications with an emphasis on learning and development are an advantage but not mandatory.
