Are you a visionary African woman ready to rise to the highest levels of public leadership? The Ellen Johnson Sirleaf (EJS) Center Amujae Initiative invites applications from exceptional women leaders across Africa who are making strides in politics and public service.

Every year, the Amujae Initiative selects 15 extraordinary women to join a transformative program designed to sharpen their skills, fuel their ambition, and connect them with a multi-generational network of trailblazers. Participants become part of a powerful sisterhood united by a shared purpose: to lead, serve, and pave the way for future generations.

Eligibility Requirements

An Amujae Leader is a woman who:

  • Resides in and is a citizen of an African country.
  • Demonstrates proven leadership talent with a track record of success and impact.
  • Has a vision and commitment to excel in public service or is already actively involved.
  • Champions the empowerment of women and her community.
  • Exhibits patriotism and a commitment to her nation’s progress.

Selection Criteria

The Amujae Initiative seeks women with:

  • Vision: A compelling and actionable vision for transformative change.
  • Leadership: Proven experience in senior leadership roles across political, civil, or international institutions.
  • Political Savvy: An in-depth understanding of political systems and power dynamics.
  • Credibility: A reputation for excellence and recognized expertise.
  • Personal Mastery: The determination to control their career trajectory and future.
  • Resilience: The strength to overcome challenges on the path to leadership.
  • Ambition: A bold readiness to step into greater leadership roles within the next five years.
