About CHAI
The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is a global health organization dedicated to saving lives and reducing disease burdens in low- and middle-income countries. Founded in 2002 in response to the HIV/AIDS crisis, CHAI works at the invitation of governments to create and sustain high-quality health systems, focusing on diseases such as HIV, malaria, tuberculosis, and COVID-19, as well as non-communicable diseases and health system strengthening.

Internship Overview
CHAI offers an exciting internship opportunity for students passionate about global health. Interns will contribute to impactful health projects, gaining hands-on experience and building essential skills for a career in global health. Interns will work alongside CHAI professionals on real-time projects that directly contribute to the organization’s mission of improving public health outcomes worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Research & Data Analysis: Conduct research and data analysis to support programmatic strategy and decision-making.
- Project Support: Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of health initiatives, tracking progress and preparing reports.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate with government agencies, healthcare partners, and local organizations to facilitate project execution.
- Documentation & Reporting: Contribute to creating reports, presentations, and best practices documentation to support scaling successful programs.
- Operational Support: Provide support for logistics, finance, communications, and identifying operational efficiencies.
Learning & Development Opportunities

Qualifications
- Enrollment in a relevant post-graduate degree (public health, international development, economics, or business) or final year of undergraduate studies.
- Passion for global health and a strong interest in CHAI’s mission.
- Experience in research, data analysis, and familiarity with software tools (Excel, SPSS, Python).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with diverse cultures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
- Fluency in English; additional languages, particularly those spoken in CHAI’s program countries, are an asset.
Program Details
- Duration: 8-16 weeks, full-time
- Location: In-office, remote, or hybrid (based on department/program needs)
- Compensation: CHAI offers stipends and support in compliance with local labor laws, including per diem, travel, and accommodation assistance.
