10 New PhD Studentships at the University of Westminster – Quintin Hogg Trust Funding for 2025/26
The Graduate School at the University of Westminster is excited to announce the availability of 10 full PhD studentships for the academic year 2025/26, funded by the prestigious Quintin Hogg Trust. These studentships are open for both September 2025 and January 2026 start dates.
What’s on Offer:
The studentships will provide:
- Full fee waivers (at home fee level)
- Annual stipends at UKRI rates, including London weighting. For reference, the 2024/25 stipend is £21,237 (subject to UKRI announcements for 2025/26).
- The stipend is available for up to three years.
- Applications are welcomed from international students. However, international students will need to cover the difference between home fees and the international fees, which are £17,000 for 2025/26.
Key Areas of Focus:
Applicants are encouraged to submit research proposals that align with the University’s Research Communities (see link) and demonstrate strong interdisciplinary potential. Proposals that reflect the University’s commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion are particularly welcomed.
The studentships are available across 12 academic Schools at the University of Westminster. These Schools cover a wide range of research disciplines, with each one offering unique opportunities for groundbreaking research.

- School of Applied Management: Research in digital business, construction management, and sustainability.
- School of Architecture and Cities: Research in architecture, urban design, and transportation.
- School of Arts: Projects in art and society, fashion, and media aesthetics.
- School of Computer Science and Engineering: Proposals in health technology, virtual reality, and sustainable cities.
- School of Finance and Accounting: Applications in corporate governance, sustainability reporting, and digital finance.
- School of Humanities: Research in migration, heritage, and decolonisation.
- Westminster Law School: International law, human rights, and commercial law.
- School of Life Sciences: Proposals on biotechnology, quantum biology, and AI in health.
- School of Management and Marketing: Research in customer experience, digital marketing, and sustainable tourism.
