Pacific Women Climate Leaders Fellowship – Second Cohort Announcement!
The Asia Foundation is proud to announce the second cohort of the Pacific Women Climate Leaders Fellowship a program designed to empower and elevate women leaders in the Pacific region to drive climate action and sustainable development. This fellowship aims to amplify the voices of women in shaping the future of our planet.
Program Details:
The fellowship will take place from March 23–April 2, 2025 in the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City (excluding travel dates), and will include:
Bioneers Conference (March 27–29, 2025): Fellows will participate in this prestigious event in Berkeley, California, which brings together innovators and changemakers working on environmental and social justice. The conference highlights Indigenous knowledge, gender-inclusive climate solutions, and offers invaluable opportunities for networking, learning, and collaboration.
Capacity Building & Networking: Fellows will engage with influential climate leaders and organizations committed to advancing women’s leadership in climate action. This immersive, week-long program will build their skills, expand their networks, and strengthen their ability to implement gender-transformative climate solutions.
Eligibility Criteria:
This fellowship is open to women from Pacific Island nations who meet the following requirements:
- Proven experience in climate action, environmental advocacy, or gender equality work.
- Demonstrated leadership and influence within their community or professional field.
- Availability to participate in the full program, including the Bioneers Conference and networking activities, from March 23-April 2, 2025 (inclusive of travel time).
- Citizenship or residency in one of the following Pacific Island nations: Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Palau, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu.
Program Benefits:
- All expenses paid: Travel (international and domestic flights), accommodation, meals, and visa fees are fully covered.
- Visa Assistance: The Asia Foundation will assist with visa processing to ensure a smooth journey.
- Leadership Development: Fellows will gain new skills, perspectives, and connections to accelerate their leadership in climate action.
Selection Process:
The fellowship is highly competitive. Applications will be reviewed by The Asia Foundation staff and a distinguished selection committee. Selection will be based on applicants’ potential to drive meaningful change in their communities, with no consideration for race, religion, sexual orientation, or financial status.
