Call for Applications: Fully funded Christel House Global Pathbuilders Fellowship Program 2025-Transforming Education, Empowering Futures
For over 25 years, Christel House has been dedicated to providing high-quality, no-cost education to over 20,000 students across nine schools in five countries. As the organization continues to expand its impact, Christel House is now preparing to scale its transformative educational model into new regions.
The Global Pathbuilders Fellowship is a prestigious, two-year, fully funded program designed to identify and support visionary leaders in Ghana, Kenya, Colombia, Peru, Nepal, and Bangladesh. The Fellowship will select two exceptional candidates from these countries, providing them with the resources, strategic support, and funding necessary to launch new Christel House schools in their communities. Over the course of the Fellowship, the Fellows will transition into the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Christel House in their respective countries. In this leadership position, they will oversee all aspects of school operations, including fundraising, community engagement, partnerships, and expansion. The CEO will also recruit and support a Principal to manage the academic program.
Who Should Apply?
The Fellowship seeks social entrepreneurs who are deeply committed to improving the life outcomes of children and families in underserved communities.
Ideal candidates will possess:
- 10+ years of professional experience, with at least 5 years of leadership experience in the social impact sector or the private sector.
- A proven track record of fundraising and leading entrepreneurial projects or organizations.
- A strong belief in the potential of every child and a deep commitment to educational excellence.
- The ability to adapt and innovate within diverse cultural and local contexts.
- Citizenship, permanent residence, or strong ties to one of the target countries: Ghana, Kenya, Peru, Colombia, Nepal, or Bangladesh.
The Fellowship Journey
YEAR 1: Foundation & Vision Development
(Starting between August–October 2025)
- Orientation: The Fellowship begins with an immersive experience at Christel House International headquarters in Indianapolis, where Fellows will learn the core principles and values of the Christel House model.
- Global Immersion: Fellows will spend several months visiting Christel House schools worldwide to observe the model in action, build relationships with colleagues, and deepen their understanding of the Christel House community.
- Local Engagement: Fellows will return to their home countries to establish local networks, form a local board, and begin drafting the strategic and operational plans for their new school.
YEAR 2: Implementation & Launch Preparation
- Securing Resources: Fellows will focus on securing a location for the new school, mobilizing resources, and initiating fundraising efforts to support its development.
- Community Engagement: During the second year, Fellows will refine operational strategies, continue engaging with local communities, and ensure the school’s offerings are tailored to the specific needs of the area.
- Launch Plan: Fellows will present a detailed plan for the new school’s launch to the Christel House International board for final approval, setting the stage for the school’s opening in the 2027/2028 academic year.

- Round 2: Due by December 1, 2024
After the Round 1 deadline, expressions of interest will be reviewed for Round 2. All applications will be treated equally across both rounds. - Full Application Deadline: January 15, 2025
Applicants will be notified of the outcome within one month of submission. - Assessment & Interviews
- February 14 – June 30, 2025
Finalists will participate in a series of assessments and interviews as part of the selection process. This stage will take approximately 4–5 months to complete.

Christel House will host four virtual information sessions to provide in-depth details about the Fellowship program.
