WomenStrong International Grant Opportunity for Women-Led Organizations Addressing Climate and Environmental Justice: Apply!!
WomenStrong International is committed to supporting women-led organizations that are tackling some of the world’s most pressing challenges. Starting November 1, 2024, we will be actively seeking potential grantee partners who are working on climate and environmental justice issues in urban and peri-urban areas with a gender-responsive approach.
Our Focus
We are particularly interested in women-led organizations that are mobilizing communities to respond to climate-related crises, building local movements, and creating sustainable, resilient solutions. These organizations will play a vital role in addressing the intersectional challenges that climate change poses for women and girls, including but not limited to:
- Reproductive health
- Girls’ education and empowerment
- Economic security and opportunity
- Prevention of violence against women and girls
Why This Matters
Feminist action is a powerful force for change, and women have a critical role to play in the fight for climate and environmental justice. However, these efforts are often underfunded and undervalued. WomenStrong International seeks to invest in early-stage, non-traditional ideas that address the urgent need for local climate action with a gender lens. We believe that small investments can create significant impact, and we are passionate about supporting organizations with an entrepreneurial spirit that can drive change.
What We Offer
- Unrestricted Grants: WomenStrong provides flexible funding that can be used to validate, test, and scale your organization’s impact.
- Learning Lab Participation: As a grantee partner, your organization will join our virtual community, the WomenStrong Learning Lab. The Lab offers opportunities for capacity building, knowledge sharing, and collective learning among women-led organizations working on similar issues.
- Global Networking and Support: Gain access to a network of like-minded organizations and experts who are working at the intersection of gender, climate, and environmental justice.
Eligibility
We welcome expressions of interest from women-led organizations that:
- Are based in urban or peri-urban areas.
- Are working at the intersection of gender and climate/environmental justice.
- Have a proven or emerging approach to tackling climate-related crises, mobilizing women, and building local solutions.
- Are committed to participating in the WomenStrong Learning Lab to share knowledge and learn from others.
