The Development Manager plays a crucial role in helping ICSC meet its fundraising goals by working with the Secretariat staff and ICSC members across the globe to drive fundraising, including developing fundraising proposals, managing the grants calendar, managing proposal development and annual appeal processes, conducting prospect research, and assisting with cultivation events. Grants management responsibilities include writing reports and ensuring donor deliverables are being met. The manager also supports department administration, managing the donor database and other departmental systems and leading the gift acknowledgment.

The Manager reports to the Director of Development and works closely with other Secretariat staff, ICSC members, the Board, and the Ambassadors Circle. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Fundraising

  • Managing a portfolio of individual donor relationships;
  • Managing proposal development and annual appeal processes;
  • Creating funding proposals and supporting materials, annual appeal letters, and collateral;
  • Conducting prospect research for individual donors, foundations, and U.S. and international government funding sources;
  • Assist with fundraising and board events.

Grants Management

  • Project manage of the funder report process, including establishing reporting timelines, and collaborating with program and finance teams to write donor and financial reports;
  • Project manage monthly check-ins between programs teams, finance teams, and development teams to ensure grant deliverables are on time and budget.

Administration

  • Manage and maintain key departmental systems, including maintaining the integrity of donor data and revenue projections in Salesforce, reporting and grants calendars, donations platforms, etc.;
  • Manage and implement the gift acknowledgment process;
  • Manage reconciliation processes and ensure development data and financial data are in alignment;
  • Assist the Director in prospect pipeline management;
  • Assist the Director in developing budgets, financial projections, and management and board reports.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of fundraising experience, preferably in the areas of arts and culture, museums, transitional justice, and/or human rights;
  • Strong project management skills and organizational skills
  • Superior writing skills, with the ability to edit text written by others and generate new text;
  • Excellent communications skills;
  • Experience with financial reporting and analysis in Excel;
  • Grants management experience;
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and work collaboratively across teams;
  • Experience writing and/or managing project proposals and reports preferred;
  • Experience with fundraising databases and CRM systems, such as Salesforce;
  • Experience working internationally and collaborating with people in diverse cultural and political contexts preferred;
  • Fluency in Spanish, French, or another language from a region where ICSC does significant work is a plus.
  • Willing and able to travel both domestically and internationally for work-related responsibilities.

Compensation

ICSC offers a competitive compensation package with excellent benefits, including healthcare, retirement matching contributions, and generous paid time off. Additionally, we support a fully remote workplace and a 4-day workweek. Compensation is expected to be $60,000-$80,000 depending on experience.
