On October 12, 2024, the Global Center on Adaptation (GCA) will host the annual Youth Climate Adaptation Action Day, a global event aimed at empowering young people from over 100 countries to address climate change. This day provides a platform for youth to share ideas, showcase solutions, and take action to help communities adapt to climate impacts.
How You Can Participate:
1. Organize a Lighthouse Event
- Plan an event in your community, school, or university—such as a workshop, guest lecture, or discussion with friends. The possibilities are endless!
- Deadline to Register: September 30, 2024
2. My Adaptation Solution Video Competition
- If you’re between 18-35 and have a unique climate adaptation idea, enter the competition by submitting a 1-minute video.
- Submission Deadline: September 26, 2024
- Public Voting: September 30 – October 7, 2024
- Winners Announced: October 11, 2024
3. Join the Social Media Campaign
- Share climate adaptation content on social media using the hashtag #Youth4AdaptationActionDay.
- Raise awareness and engage with the global community.
- Templates and campaign materials are available for download.
