The Accelerator for GBV Prevention is seeking an experienced and dynamic executive role of Chief Advocacy Officer who can play an important leadership role in driving forward a Shared Advocacy Agenda for more and better funding and policies for GBV prevention. This role will require someone who can work effectively with diverse and multi-sector networks. The right candidate should bring excellent insights on how to effectively influence policies at national, regional and global levels and be comfortable in a strongly external-facing role, willing to represent The Accelerator for GBV Prevention in high-level meetings and fora. The successful candidate should also have strong facilitation and training skills, and be comfortable leading advocacy capacity-building workshops with diverse stakeholders. The role will lead a small, innovative and fast-paced initiative and team working closely with its Collaborative partners, Apolitical Foundation and the Equality Institute as well as other field-building organizations, which requires a flexible and organised approach to the work.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the effective implementation of The Accelerator’s global influencing strategy together with the Advisory Group and lead partners.
- Monitor and track advancements in the GBV prevention field, curating and disseminating information to GBV prevention field.
- Design advocacy campaigns and organize high-level events in global advocacy – identifying platforms to promote GBV prevention visibility and the work of The Accelerator globally.
- Engage with donors (multilateral, bilateral, private) and advocacy partners to develop resource mobilisation strategies and share recommendations.
- Lead the fundraising for the GBV Accelerator itself, including donor cultivation and reporting.
- Collaborate on strategic communications with The Equality Institute and support partners in the creation of shared advocacy and communications materials such as policy briefs, storybanks, and talking points.
- Represent The Accelerator in external events and coalitions (in-person and online), including acting as a spokesperson for media.
- Contribute to The Accelerator’s external-facing communications platforms, including the website, social media channels, and monthly e-newsletter.
- Strengthen media relations to create opportunities for more coverage on evidence-based and practice-informed GBV prevention programmes and policies.
- Lead donor reporting on qualitative and quantitative progress and impact.
- Line management and supervision of the Network and Partnership Coordinator, and Communications and Administrative Associates; close coordination with strategic communications lead at The Equality Institute.
- Map and engage in platforms and strategic moments to support feminist, grassroots movements and civil society organisations’s capacity building.

Requirements
Essential:
- At least ten years of experience effectively designing and implementing integrated advocacy strategies at a global level with measurable outcomes, including resource mobilisation.
- Extensive experience nurturing existing and building new multi-sector partnerships to advance progress towards set strategic outcomes.
- Proven experience working in social justice fields with national, regional, and global advocates and activists.
- Experience working with high-level decision-makers and their teams, and the ability to provide counsel to senior leadership.
- Experience in start-ups and dynamic, resource-constrained spaces. Mainly looking for a growth mindset.
- Commitment to diversity and inclusion and The Accelerator’s principles.
- Exceptional English writing and speaking skills (additional languages considered an advantage).
- Adaptability and interest in being part of a dynamic and growing initiative.
Desired but not required:
- Demonstrated knowledge and working experience in gender equality, SRHR or GBV prevention.
- Familiarity with different research tools and methodologies.
- Degree in public policy, international development, gender studies or a relevant field
Benefits
The Salary range for this role is: $100,000-$120,000.
Competitive and based on experience.
The benefits package is based on the country where the applicant is based and will be negotiated on an individual basis.
