In each area, Global Shapers work together to deliver grassroots projects to respond to disasters, fight climate change, promote inclusion and much more.

Why we are recruiting

Global Shapers implement between 350-500 hub projects annually and work together on more than 10 multi-city initiatives per year to create social impact at scale. Since 2011, Global Shapers have delivered more than 3,100 local projects supporting over 2.5 million direct beneficiaries with improved access to education, employment, housing, healthcare and other essential services – and engaged over 15 million stakeholders in public awareness campaigns and research initiatives in over 150 countries and territories.

To strengthen our global impact strategy, we are seeking an Impact Communications Specialist who will work collaboratively with other team members to oversee project management, track project and develop communications to share and demonstrate impact with our key stakeholders worldwide. outcomes worldwide.

Reporting lines and interactions
The Impact Communications Specialist, based in Geneva, Switzerland, will work closely with the Impact Lead on the Global Shapers Team and the Communications Lead of the Foundations. This role will involve collaborative efforts with all Global Shapers Community Managers and the Head of the Global Shapers Community.

Main responsibilities

  • Project Coordination: Oversee 350-500 hub projects annually, including approving projects in Salesforce and analysing global trends, including project topics, impact tactics and outcomes.
  • Impact Evaluation: Measure project outcomes according to our Theory of Change and Indicator Framework, disseminating our impact survey, facilitating data collection, and supporting analysis.
  • Impact Reporting: Draft and edit our Annual Impact Report, developing a methodology to select and showcase the top projects and grassroots solutions implemented by Global Shapers each year.
  • Innovation Prize: Support the selection process and coaching programme of our Youth Innovation Prize, which seeks to reward leading projects with funding, mentorship and storytelling support.
  • Partner Engagement: Draft, edit, and submit briefing materials to our Innovation Prize Jury and Donors, as well as facilitate high level interactions and inspiring discussions with prize winners.
  • Grant Management: Support Innovation Prize winners to develop accurate budgets, receive grant funding, and track project outcomes according to agreed upon timelines and deliverables.
  • Forum Integration: Act as a liaison between the Global Shapers Community and the Forum’s Ten Impact Centres to help mobilize young changemakers to advance key institutional initiatives.
  • Impact Communications: Drive the development of key insights, global campaigns and impact stories to scale the number of hub projects that are profiled in our public engagement strategies.

Preferred qualifications

  • Advanced university degree in public policy, economics, social sciences, or other relevant fields.
  • Exceptional project manager – effectively plans and executes short- and long-term projects.
  • Communicates proactively and collaborates effectively to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Strong prioritization skills to fulfil responsibilities in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong storytelling skills to bring to life stories of impact and key messages of youth leaders
  • Passionate about supporting youth leaders, accelerating youth impact and amplifying youth voices.
  • Experience facilitating high level interactions and engaging with donors and external partners.
  • Fluency in English, with excellent written, digital and verbal communication skills
