The Job
As the Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) Technical Lead, you will play a crucial role in creating and executing Tiko’s detailed strategy to address and prevent sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) at both global and local levels. In addition to this, you will be responsible for supervising the implementation of the project.
Responsibilities:
- You will be the technical expert on the SGBV subject at Tiko.
- You will liaise with other cross-functional teams to support SGBV-related activities and serve as the primary technical contributor for SGBV-related research, social behaviour change communication and SGBV advocacy.
- You will lead the development and contextualization of the SGBV prevention and response/services strategy in all Tiko markets.
- You will document and develop SGBV advocacy tools to highlight the importance and impact of SGBV on survivors.
- You will develop global and country-level SGBV partnerships.
- You will develop the skills and knowledge of internal teams so they can effectively implement SGBV programs.
About you
You are adept at solving practical problems and connecting with people from diverse backgrounds. You are a flexible and logical thinker with a clear ethical compass, enabling you to navigate complex situations when managing the SGBV project. You are capable of listening, understanding, and building trust with others easily. You can communicate complex subjects clearly and understandably in writing and verbally. Additionally, you are data-driven and tech-savvy.
Essentials
- A minimum of 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in leading and implementing projects addressing sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) in at least two African countries, with a specific focus on the needs of adolescents and young people.
- Experience working with the Governments and especially the Ministry of Health on strategy and delivery efforts and managing donors
- Strong networks with funders, technical assistants, working groups, and agencies that support SGBV interventions.

The gross monthly salary bracket for this position is €3,056 – €4,584 in Portugal, R59,224 – R88,837 in South Africa, Ksh377,878 – Ksh566,818 in Kenya, €2,363 – €3,545 in Ethiopia, CFA1,242,875 – CFA1,864,312 in Burkina Faso, and UGX10,919,882 – UGX16,379,823 in Uganda, plus benefits. We will offer you a salary in this bracket depending on your level of experience and how it relates to your future colleagues.
